Our first Video Game Art Challenge started in October and was all about Nintendo.
It resulted in illustrations of both known characters like Rosalina but also pretty unknown ones inlcuding even Golden Sun and the Wonderful 101.
Our new one is all about villains in video games! Can you illustrate those evil guys like Ganondorf, Vaas Montenegro, Kefka Palazzo, Sephiroth, Handsome Jack, Wario etc?
You can either choose one of these characters OR if you want a real challenge let me give you a choice between only three villains. I am mostly choosing those which are not so easy to illustrate of course.
Rules:
Counting all ALL villains, antagonists and bosses in video games, this means that stage bosses can be claimed as well as evil fighting game characters like M.Bison or Shao Kahn or the big antagonists or villains of a game like those mentioned above.
Each character can be chosen by only one artist. Exceptions are different forms or designs. Like Ganon the boar like boss from the classic Zelda and Ganondorf from Zelda OoT who looked very different.
It is up to you in what style, size and format you would illustrate the villain or boss character, you can also choose to draw a fight scene with the protagonist(s) of a game, but the villain should be on the winning side and be the clear focus on the illustration.
This challenge endures till the 8th March 2015.
The submissions will be featured in a journal on as well as on Game-Art-HQ.com The GA-HQ challenge is going to be a big part of the website, and the featured artworks are of course accompanied with full credits to you and your dA Profile or another website of your choice.
Here is an example for you to see how it looks: www.game-art-hq.com/80767/the-…

The GA-HQ Interview #1!
Just a few days ago I had the idea to use a weekly journal to let 1-3 group members introduce themselves a bit through a few questions I ask them about their games, art, dA and other topics.
Both of the first two artists are members of Game-Art-HQ since years now, Mortalshinobi even since the start back in 2012!
Despite the changes at dA, please have a good read, I hope these interviews are fun to read, and help to get to know some of the group members a bit better!
Cheers and a nice weekend everyone!

It is time to find alternatives.
DeviantART was an awesome place when I joined it in ..I think 2010.
I created a Mortal Kombat group which became one of the biggest one for that game series here, also :iconfighting-game-elite: which is one of the most active and biggest fighting game related groups now and of course Game-Art-HQ with its over 9000 members ..I bet it is the most active and maybe among the biggest groups here on dA as well now and since years.
But deviantART changed. It changed this, it changed that. It became...worse.
Now in 2020 I am unhappy with many of the changes which made a great navigation more and more difficult with the times ..but Eclipse is the
Weekly Group Interview Idea
Heya, I had the idea recently to do a weekly journal with an interview between me and Game-Art-HQ Group members.
I would ask you 5-8 questions related to video games, art, deviantART and other related topics.
If you find this idea funny and you would like to be featured, simply mention it via a comment or directly PM me
Greets and a ..healthy good time everyone!

Our GA-HQ Character Collab!
We have a big video game character art collaboration, organized in rounds here since years, the last one started in February and over 30 more game characters were drawn in the style of their artists, but always with the same guidelines: Full Body, no Background via a .png file.

This week we got a good handful new additions as well that range from Ulala from Space Channel 5 by Sega, 3 lovely characters from the old Legend of Zelda: Oracle games on the Game Boy by Capcom actually, Sir Daniel Fortesque from Medievil, Reptile f
