The Legend of Zelda: Link`s Blacklist!
There are tons of Zelda fanarts on Deviantart and other websites.
We could draw a ton more Link`s, Zelda`s, Sheiks, and Midna in all forms and colors. But this tribute is for the dark side of Hyrule and the other Legend of Zelda Worlds. From the Miniblin to Ganondorf himself, they are the characters we tribute this time!
Like previously the Street Fighter Anniversary Tribute and next week the Kirby Anniversary, the entries for this tribute will be showcased on Fan Art Site Game Art HQ.Com http://fanart.game-art-hq.

The commission sale is a go. I'll begin accepting slot reservations on the first of November. The opening of these slots will be announced in my next journal entry (on 11/1, obviously), which will contain the full "rules" of the sale. Slot reservations will be made in the comments of that journal entry (NOT in this journal's comments, through the note system, on my homepage comments, etc).
Also, a large volume of commissions seems to have come to fruition at almost the exact same time. So expect a lot of commission painting uploads today and this week.

I was thinking recently about how I would really like to hold a holiday contest with nice, shiny prizes as well as that there are possibly some people who would like to commission a painting from me who can't afford the fee. Our event is officially over everyone! We sure had a blast in celebrating it! We're sorry for such a long delay and extension, but due to the destruction of hurricane Sandy, it was only fair. LODA Monster ContestHello Everyone and welcome to our first ever contest! Here is a summary and some rules for it!
LODA MONSTER CONTEST
The monster contest is quite simply, draw your favorite monster! But there are a few rules...
1. No bosses! Only monsters that you encounter via the red triangle above your head during map exploration.
2. Color preferred, but I understand some of you excel in black and white art. So lineart is acceptable, but it must be clean, no pencil, and detailed.
3. Deadline is October 1st, 2012. That gives you 2 1/2 weeks.

As you can see below, we have many, many entries for our royalty contest! :iconkh2glompplz: That's great!

There were so many fanart pieces as well as fanfiction pieces, so it was nearly impossible to judge between the two mediums of art.
To be fair, we decided to split the prizes into two catagories, one for fanart and one for fanfiction.

SUMMER 2012 COMPETITION!Hello Munkfans. Summer is upon us, school is over, and it's time to get to those projects we've been wanting to work on for so long. And as the new founder, I really love competition, so to kick it off, I'm going to create one!
PRIZES
Prizes are a possibility depending on how many participate, I'll let everyone know before time is up. Link`s Blacklist is the latest Game Art HQ Art Project / Game Tribute.

The target is to tribute the enemies, the bosses, the fiends of the Legend of Zelda series. The entries are featured here and will later get featured on Game Art HQ.com as well, probably in September.

sad but true. Only one of the around 50 artists draw the two Zelda II entries. Just all the classic ones didnt get much love sadly.

Next year, most likely again in June i will continue the Link` s Blacklist project if the interest is there, and probably make a list with characters to choose from to get the not so popular enemies and games be represented as well

That's the sad part and that's why being an illustrator/game-concept-artist is not easy: you HAVE to draw things you don't like much of the time and make them like-able

The saddest part is that many here CLAIM (yes, in capitals) to be Zelda hardcore fans and they have not played the games. Maybe that's the reason so many classic games are overlooked.

Also, why not having many Octorocs? many points of view are cool, because you can see the different peaople and minds behind the piece drawn.

well its a lot worse with the artists you see on official artbooks with stuff made by fans, like the Udon SF Tributes or their Megaman one

Take a look at the galleries of the artists who draw the accepted works and you see it most of the time that they never draw a SF or MegaMan fanart before or later. It was only done for being in an artbook = publicity

I think it is because of the age as well, the msot in the group are below 25, their first consoles were the playstation or n65 in 1996 and many of them probably started with Ocarina of Time

But anyway, next year its about the not yet drawn characters, and whoever wants to be a part of this ambitious project will have to draw those

I'm playing since Asteroids and Space Invaders (at 6yo), so count me in. Sadly, the only generation I almost completely lost was N64-PS-Saturn since didn't had the oportunity to play them, but with today emulators I'm trying to compensate.

I got in the MegaMan Anniversay Artbook, btw. Yey for me! LOL
